b.TWEEN08 conference, PUMA Manchester Exclusive Gig And More

b.TWEEN 08 conference, Manchester, UK, 18-20 JuneThings have been a bit quiet on the Real Fresh TV blog as I’ve been quite busy this week attending a couple of rather exciting events.

First was PUMA’s long awaited exclusive gig featuring grime maestros Hadouken! at Manchester’s MohoLive.

I met up with Nathan, winner of the 5 Day PUMA Manchester Giveaway online competition we ran for PUMA at the impressively well organized event and Nathan will be posting a gig review on the site shortly. You can see some pictures he took at last night’s gig on our Flickr page.

Speaking of long awaited events, we’re delighted to be taking part in the b.TWEEN 08 conference. b.TWEEN is a 2 day conference covering the intersection of media, advertising and technology. It is taking place at Manchester’s Museum of Science and Industry over 18-20 June.

According to the b.TWEEN website:

“b.TWEEN is a unique cross media gathering where interactive ideas are seeded, shared and sold

It uses technology in innovative ways and radical formats to deliver cutting edge, interactive events with networking and business at their core

b.TWEEN is about knowledge sharing, being inspired, learning from peers and doing deals

It connects talent scouts from big companies and talented indies with big ideas

From what I’ve experienced so far it is living up to its reputation!

I will be live tweeting from the conference on Thursday and Friday and posting highlights after each day’s events. I don’t think I could live blog just yet, there’s going to be far too much going on!

Speaking of event highlights, I still plan on posting a summary of last Thursday’s fantastic Creative Industries Development Service (CIDS) Focal Point:Lecture featuring the inimitable Alistair Sim, Managing Director of highly regarded Manchester-based creative ad agency, LOVE Creative.

In a highly enjoyable talk, Alistair described how his much awarded agency started out in Stockport, Manchester over than ten years ago funded on a bank overdraft and bundles of pioneering idealism.

LOVE Creative now boasts a client list including, amongst others, Nike, Microsoft, Dr Martens, Christian Aid, Youth Justice Trust and Sony.

Finally, over the next fortnight, I will be introducing a new series of expert marketing articles from Derek Sivers, founder of the world’s best independent online music store, CD Baby.

Add to that the next installment of the study of Social Media Usage amongst FTSE100 companies and it’s going to be a busy few days.

It’s all good…
