Got Something To Say? Disqus this…

I’ve just installed Disqus on this blog to handle comments and it was a breeze! Took less than five minutes and didn’t require any changes to the blog….sweet!
I’ll will have to change the Recent Comments section in the side bar to pull data from Disqus but I’m sure it’s nothing myself or our web developer extraordinaire can’t handle…
I’m particularly chuffed about this because I’m hoping using Disqus will help turn an upcoming giveaway competition into a veritable social media extravaganza! But, before I go on…
Disqus is a neat distributed comment management that effectively turns comments on a blog into a community.
Each commenter signed up to the Disqus website is provided a profile page on Disqus.com that tracks all their comments on other blogs. Think distributed comments, de-centralised and web wide!
The whole thing makes for a more transparent commenting experience on blogs not to mention a rather neat way to get to know visitors to your site. Comments left by a Disqus-user come with a mini-profile on your blog showing the user’s Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and LinkedIn pages if they so wish….
I’ve been toying with installing Disqus for a good month or so. I checked out similar systems like IntenseDebate and SezWho but Disqus’ fantastic customer service and elegant user interface won me over.
I’d like an extra feature added to Disqus that may actually turn out to be something founder Daniel Ha and the team could monetise.
This post is getting rather long so I’ll stop and continue on another.
