Real-Life Practical Advice on Social Media for UK Marketers
As promised, I will shortly be posting some blog posts/articles answering real marketing questions posed by delegates during my Masterclass at March’s excellent Marketing Tech: Tailor Made conference in London.
These articles will be posted under the ‘Real-Life Practical Advice on Social Media for UK Marketers’ title and you can read every article in the series by clicking on the ‘Practical social media advice‘ tag.
What is Marketing Tech?
Marketing Tech: Tailor Made was a one day training conference for marketing professionals that took place in London’s Grange City Hotel on March 31.
Following extensive research by conference organisers, Haymarket Events, it was specifically put together to provide marketing managers, online marketing managers, brand managers and other marketing executives with a ‘tailor made’ training day for learning about the latest digital technologies.
Real Fresh TV was proud to sponsor the event, alongside companies like DoubleClick Performics, AdFero and Nixon McInnes. I presented the Digital/Online Interactive Masterclass and those unable to attend can view my slides on SlideShare.
My masterclass was aimed at de-mystifying new digital marketing technologies and introducing the notion of social media to marketing professionals who normally have too much to do to read tech blogs and follow developments on social media platforms like Twitter. As mentioned in a conference follow up post, it was particularly well received by delegates.
I’ve chosen the title above to reflect the fact that each blog post will be answering a real-life question posed by a delegate who attended the Digital/Online Interactive Masterclass at MarketingTech.
A specially designed follow up card for noting “a real marketing problem that needed solving” was handed out to each delegate at the start of the Masterclass.
Each Masterclass also included an interactive, hands-on workshop at the end designed to give delegates an opportunity to apply what I had just shared.
The interactive workshop brief: to devise a short digital marketing campaign that solved the real marketing problem noted at the start using some of the social media viral techniques presented. I think people really enjoyed it.
To keep things simple, I have chosen to only post responses to questions handed in anonymously.
All delegates who provided contact details with their questions/follow up cards should have received a detailed email response by now. Please contact me if you are still expecting yours.
The questions varied from the broad and recurring “How to use social media in a business-to-business context?” to the very specific: “Introducing classical music to students and young people via newsgroups/blogs etc in a cost effective way“.
I will be posting the first article on Thursday… stay tuned!
If you weren’t able to attend Marketing Tech but have similar queries to those covered in this series, your questions, comments and queries are most welcome!
