Social Media Experiment FAIL

SocialMediaExperimentSo our social media experiment on YouTube was relatively short lived.

You may have read my earlier post laying out a social media experiment to get an unsigned or indie band music video onto YouTube’s Most Viewed list in a week by taking advantage of the fact our New Music Videos page was the 5th search result for ‘New Music Videos’ on Google.co.uk.

Well, it would appear that we are no longer the 5th search result for ‘new music videos’.

We are now the seventeenth.

How that changed within a few hours is baffling.  Goes to show how ruthless and competitive the search engine optimisation (SEO) business can be.

Oh well. Back to business as normal.

Amongst other exciting news, look out for the first post in the next instalment of the study of social media usage amongst FTSE 100 companies.
