Introduction to Social Media for Media Professionals
Posted on 22. Jan, 2010 by Chi-chi Ekweozor in Events, Social Media Strategies

I’m pretty excited about this! Starting next month, on Wednesday 10th February to be precise, I will be running a new social media training course aimed squarely at the media industry in the North West.
The new Introduction to Social Media for Media Professionals course, designed specifically for digital media professionals considering use of social media within media projects, builds on Real Fresh TV’s success with the UK’s longest running ’social media for beginners’ course: the Social Media Starter Course.
Along with an assessment of workable strategies for developing multi-platform content, the course concludes with an introduction to the rigours and demands of creating content for multiple platforms.
Read on for details of the course and how to register. (more…)
Social Media Starter Course – Tuesday 27th October, 9:30am – 12:30pm

It’s been a little while since the last Social Media Starter Course but I’m pleased to announce there’s one scheduled for Tuesday 27th October 2009.
Real Fresh TV’s innovative Social Media Starter Course was developed over a year ago and launched in October 2008 as the first dedicated Social Media for Beginners training course in the UK.
It has proven incredibly popular, with academics, marketers, PR companies, photographers and even non-profits attending over the course of the year.
Attendees even requested a more hands-on follow up course, the Learning Social Media By Doing Course which has since been developed.
Here’s some of the fantastic feedback the Social Media Starter Course has received:
7 Wonders In 7 Days Live Music Gig: Hungry Pigeon Festival

Hot on the heels of my announcement of Real Fresh TV’s social media charity engagement of the year: 7 Wonders in 7 Days, comes the first live music event in aid of the charity fundraising trip planned for September 2009.
For those of you who are unaware, 7 Wonders in 7 Days is an epic adventure trip I’m embarking on jointly inspired by my grandmonther’s funeral in February and Channel 4’s brilliant Secret Millionaire programme.
The First Learning Social Media By Doing Course – A Success!
Posted on 19. May, 2009 by Chi-chi Ekweozor in Events, Social Media Strategies
By all accounts, yesterday’s first Learning Social Media By Doing Course was a success!
Put on specifically in response to requests by attendees of the Social Media Starter Course for a more practical follow-up course, the half-day workshop was aimed at giving beginner to medium level social media users a hands-on introduction to social media tools.
And hands-on they got!

Wow, I’m completely blown away by this.

Get Your Music Video on YouTube’s Most Viewed List In A Week
Posted on 22. Aug, 2008 by Chi-chi Ekweozor in Inspired, Your Opinion, Please
This is a bit of a social media experiment.
A few hours ago, I discovered that if you searched for ‘New Music Videos’ on Google.co.uk, this humble website was the fifth search result returned.
That’s Real Fresh TV’s New Music Videos page, listed higher on Google than MTV UK, NME.com and Channel 4.
Go ahead and try it… hopefully nothing has changed.
An Evening With Fred Wilson, a New York VC visiting Leeds England
Posted on 12. Aug, 2008 by Chi-chi Ekweozor in Events, Inspired
I was privileged to meet Fred Wilson, prolific blogger and pioneering Internet investor on Friday evening at the Evening with Fred Wilson event at Leeds Metropolitan university’s Old Broadcasting House.
Organised by uber-connected Leeds entrepreneur Imran Ali, the evening took the form of an informal presentation and interactive Q&A session with the co-founder of Union Square Ventures, the New York based venture capital firm behind web services like delicious, Feedburner, Etsy, Disqus and Twitter.
Delicious was sold to Yahoo in 2005 whilst Google bought Feedburner last year.
Better Late Than Never: That PUMA Manchester Gig Review
Posted on 14. Jul, 2008 by Chi-chi Ekweozor in Events, Social Media Strategies
The eagle-eyed amongst you may recall that a few weeks ago we announced the winner of the 5 Day PUMA Manchester Giveaway, Nathan Keller.
Nathan was kind enough to write a review of PUMA’s exclusive gig in Manchester headlined by chart riding grimesters Hadouken! He delivered it a day after the gig as requested. Unfortunately, there was a bit of a delay in hearing back from PUMA about his prize and for that reason his review hasn’t been published until now.
PUMA came through and sent him his USAN trainers so here’s his review. You can see some pictures he took on our Flickr page.
