Better Late Than Never: That PUMA Manchester Gig Review
Posted on 14. Jul, 2008 by Chi-chi Ekweozor in Events, Social Media Strategies
The eagle-eyed amongst you may recall that a few weeks ago we announced the winner of the 5 Day PUMA Manchester Giveaway, Nathan Keller.
Nathan was kind enough to write a review of PUMA’s exclusive gig in Manchester headlined by chart riding grimesters Hadouken! He delivered it a day after the gig as requested. Unfortunately, there was a bit of a delay in hearing back from PUMA about his prize and for that reason his review hasn’t been published until now.
PUMA came through and sent him his USAN trainers so here’s his review. You can see some pictures he took on our Flickr page.

As part of PUMA’s hunt for Manchester’s most promising music talent, we’re giving away a pair of coveted USAN trainers from PUMA’s Runway Collection.
We’ve also got up for grabs 5 pairs of money-can’t-buy tickets to an exclusive gig featuring hotly tipped grime-disco masters Hadouken! at Manchester’s Moho Live on 17th June.
Also performing will be local bands hand picked by PUMA; if you’re in a Manchester band check out www.pumamanchester.com for details on how to bag a support slot at the gig. Your track may even be used in a PUMA marketing campaign!
Building Up To The 5 Day PUMA Manchester Giveaway

So this has been a rather frantic week with lots of developments behind the scenes as we prepare to launch the first 5 Day Giveaway by a major brand. The 5 Day PUMA Manchester launches on Monday 26th May at 9am GMT.
My efforts to get a customised version of a third party blog management system retrofitted to support comment voting have proven unsuccessful so far. I’ve deemed this necessary to combat voter fraud in future giveaways. Maybe I’m being paranoid. We’ll soon find out.

As announced a few days ago, we have teamed up with PUMA on their search for Manchester’s most promising musical talent.
The social networking drive is in full force on both Real Fresh TV and PUMA Manchester’s MySpace pages with scores of Manchester bands taking note and signing up.

Real Fresh TV is excited to announce it has partnered with leading sportswear fashion brand PUMA to find Manchester’s most promising band.
Barely weeks after opening the third ‘new concept’ PUMA store in the UK in Manchester’s Arndale shopping centre, PUMA is sponsoring a band search competition to find Manchester’s most promising musical talent.
Facebook: Take a leaf out of Bebo’s book. It’s not all about Social Ads.
Posted on 13. Nov, 2007 by Chi-chi Ekweozor in Engagement Marketing

Marketing on social networks is less about Social Ad(vertising) and more about Engagement Marketing.
The former, a word play on ‘Social Ads’, is about targeting marketing messages to users on Facebook through the news feeds of their friends.
Engagement marketing, on the other hand, is about engaging a user with brand/marketing experiences that makes such an impression that they willingly share it with their friends.
This approach has been used successfully by global sports and fashion brands on the ‘other two’ social networks, Bebo and MySpace.
This post is a follow up to Saturday’s open letter to Facebook in which I suggested they considered introducing a monthly subscription option that offered users averse to sending and receiving Social Ads a way to opt out.
Disclosure: Real Fresh TV works with a number of online publishers to provide content owners a one stop digital distribution service for publishing multimedia content online. Our publisher partners include YouTube, Bebo, Brightcove, Veoh and Azureus.
