Introducing Abid Ramtoola…

Hi, my name is Abid Ramtoola. I am keen and interested in learning about Web Design, User Interface Design and the rapid changes in technology.

My placement at Real Fresh TV includes analysing websites of FTSE 100 companies and their use of social media. I will post a review every week and share my findings with you on what I thought was good and what could possibly be changed.

Communication is very much integral and part of our culture these days, which is why I am interested in this subject area a lot. However these tools can only become effective if the website they are on is ‘user friendly’. Over time I am therefore going to evaluate not only on the usage but how social networking tools can effectively function on each site reviewed.

Social media is still relatively new because of rapid developments in Information and Communication Technologies. In each review I am therefore going to highlight the importance for companies to have these features and how it could possibly help them to improve the way they deliver their services.

Over time, this study would give me an insight on how well companies are communicating with their consumers these days. From this I will be able to deduce who does this well and which companies still need to understand the ‘digital hype’ of social networks.

I am hoping to build a knowledge base and a helpful resource of the use of social networking features over time, each delivered with a succinct analysis.

In my articles I will try to sum up all areas: both the positives and the negatives. If you want me to mention other information however, please mention this in your comments below.
